If you know anything about me, you know that I absolutely love traveling. While I’d love to go back to Singapore or Uganda… my bank account has been known to sabotage my plans. In case your checking account is just as evil as mine, here’s a list of old and new books that will transport you all over the world:
There hasn’t been a Top Ten Tuesday on Brown Books and Green Tea for a while! I figured I’d take the opportunity to let everyone know what’s coming up.
Hey there everyone! It’s time for another Top Ten Tuesday, sponsored by The Broke and Bookish. Check out their site for more things like this! This week’s topic allows me to deviate from the norm, and give y’all a sense of what I’m doing when I’m not doing book-related things. Make no mistake: while this is a “diverse” list, each of these are phenomenal sites even without that modifier. In no particular order, here are my top 10 diverse time suckers:
It’s time for another Top Ten Tuesday, always hosted by lovely bloggers over at The Broke and Bookish. This week’s subject allows us to think about characters that we’d like an update on further down the line. It’s a bit difficult because I mostly read non-fiction, but I was able to think of a few.
Here are the ones that really left me wondering:
I’d consider it a confession, but y’all probably already know this: I don’t read funny books. In fact, I’m not even all that into comedy as a genre. This week’s Top Ten Tuesday is going to be a bit of a stretch for me, but I’m including books I’ve seen recommended in addition to books I’ve already read myself. Doing that, I still didn’t get to 10. I tried. If you’d wanted me to make you sad, angry, indignant or lusty…I’d have had your back, though.
I’ve actually already done this week’s Top 10 Tuesday– I wrote a post a while back titled “Books to Read if You’re in the Mood for Activism.” It’s not the exact same thing, but it’s close enough that I don’t feel like making a similar list at the moment. I’m also in the midst of an awful reading and writing slump at the moment, and am hoping this new topic will put the fire under my behind. I’ve signed up for ARC April, which is an opportunity for bloggers and reviewers to get some built up advanced reader copies off…
Allow me to shine the light on some great diverse book lovers for you to follow. I’ve fallen short of the full 10 for a Top Ten Tuesday, but I prefer quality over quantity.
This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is something that I’d actually like to do periodically. Since we’ve already gotten through a third of the 2016, I figure it’s about time to do my quarterly list of best reads so far this year. This year has a great year for books so far, and I’m excited for what’s next. Read below for some of the best books I’ve read this year; there’s a great mix of genres, settings, and authors to pick from if you’re looking for some new reading material. If you need a little more information, click the title…
The other day, I hit 200 followers, and 1,000 likes! Thanks everyone for all of the support! Here’s to 200 more followers! I wasn’t diggin’ this week’s Top 10 Tuesday topic, so I switched it up a little bit. I actually think I’m pretty good at representing the books I love, and the books I hate (no one’s ever accused me of hiding my opinions…). Instead of simply doing 10 great books I haven’t mentioned recently, I’m doing 5 books that deserve more shine, and 5 books that can exit stage left. As always, feel free to leave some additions in…
I’ve already gotten most of the books on my Spring Reading list, and I’m so excited! 2016 has been a great reading year so far. Here are some of the books that are on my list to be reviewed in the next couple months.
